Bhagyavidhaata is an Indian television drama series that airs on Colors since May 2009. Set in the rural district of Motihari, Bihar, the show deals with 2 families: the Sinhas and the Prasads.

Plot

Season 1

Bindya, a simple girl is forced to marry Vinay, the youngest son of the rich Sinha family. Once married she starts suffering at her in laws place due to their and her husbands neglect. Bindya's sister Poonam soon marries Vimlesh, brother of Vinay. Also Bindya's brother Raja marries Rekha, the sole daughter of Sinha family. Bindya gets pregnant however Vinay gets killed. Akhilesh, Vinay's evil older brother snatches the baby from Bindya to raise the child as his own.

Season 2

After a leap of 20 years Bindya lives with her niece (Raja and Rejha's daughter) "Mamta" and adopted daughter Poorva. Rekha, Poonam, Vimlesh are all dead and Raja is in jail for false crime. Akhilesh, who is the sole surviving son of the family and his evil wife Shobha raise Suraj (son of Bindya) as a servant in household. They have three children of their own Paya, Prem and Ratan. Everyone else in Sinha household is dead except Akhilesh's mother, Methli. The season primary deals with Sakshi the wife of Suraj and her attempts to bond Suraj with Bindya.
